Welcome to residentialplacement.org!
The American Association of Children's Residenital Centers is the longest standing national association focused exclusively on the needs of children who require access to residential treatment and their families.
National Scope
All programs listed here are members of the American Association of Children’s Residential Centers, The Alliance for Children and Families, or both. While we don’t certify our members, organizations tend to seek membership with these two associations in order to participate a national forum designed to advance best practice, innovation, and clinical excellence.
Beyond Bricks and Mortar
The quality of a residential treatment facility goes far beyond the physical structures and the landscape. As each child and family clearly has different needs, it is important to look beyond the walls to ensure the organization you choose is a good match for your child and your family. Please use the tip sheets created by the Building Bridges Initiative found here as a guide during your search.
Values
It is a requirement that all programs participating in this searchable website have signed off on the values and principles set forth by AACRC, which can accessed by reading our series on Redefining Residential here.
Placement criteria
Every program has a different capacity and licensure often based on age, gender, and needs of the child and family. All programs listed do accept private referrals for placement, although availability, method of payment, and other placement criteria are determined by the provider. Please contact them directly for more information.
